YOU CAN’T BEAT the look and feel of a clean and tangle-free tail. Using a detangler can help to keep your horse’s mane and tail in great condition, but with so many on the market it’s hard to know which one to spend your money on. Our tester tried out 12 detanglers to discover which ones work the best, provide lasting results and offer value for money. Each detangler was tested in the same way. The tail was washed with the same shampoo and the detangler applied while the tail was still wet, unless instructed differently on the bottle. Assessments were made after applying the detangler and again once the tail was dry and brushed out. Our tester made further assessments over the following days when the tail was brushed, noting how easy it was to remove knots and bedding, and also how long the effects lasted before she needed to add more product.
