Make it a harder test
there are a couple of ways in which you can boost the difficulty of bounce fences. the first is simply to increase the number of fences that you negotiate. start by adding one more fence, so that you’re jumping three in a row, and then take it from there. “keep everything small to help your horse feel confident,” says simon, “and always build up gradually, staying positive in your riding.” the other thing you can do, once you’re feeling confident, is approach a bounce in canter, rather than trot. Before doing this, make sure that you can keep your horse straight. he mustn’t be allowed to rush through the bounce either.
