SEVEN MOVING HOME ESSENTIALS
l1 If your horse isn’t used to travelling, practise before moving day.
l2 Say your goodbyes to staff, owners and other horses the day before, so you can stay emotion-free and calm.
l3 Take hay and feed with you, so your horse can be transitioned onto anything new gradually.
l4 Move your kit and tools after moving your horse, so you’re able to focus on him completely.
l5 Provide your new yard owner with as much information as possible.
l6 Ride, lunge or do some groundwork as soon as you arrive.
l7 Spend lots of time with your horse at his new yard in the first week.
