Eggs to dye for!

-

It couldn’t be easier to create these fun, colourful, patterned eggs. Simply wrap a few elastic bands around a hard-boiled duck egg then place it in a bowl of water filled with 20 drops of food colouring and 1 tsp of white vinegar. Turn the egg regularly using a spoon to ensure you get even coverage and leave for at least 5 mins. Leave longer for a darker hue. Use a slotted spoon to gently remove the egg and set aside to dry. MIX IT UP… You can also make your own natural dyes using herbs and vegetables. One cup of chopped purple cabbage mixed with a cup of water will dye white eggs blue and brown eggs green. Mix a cup of water with 2 tbsp ground turmeric to make yellow coloured eggs opr take a cup of chopped yellow onion skins and mix with a cup of water to turn white eggs orange and brown eggs red!
