Here I am in early spring, when my mum, Emma, took me into Nottingham to buy us both a new coat for Easter. On our way home, we called in to see my aunty Kathleen who insisted on using her Box Brownie camera to take this photo of us. My dress was made from white taffeta material with a raised black flock design, paired with a black straw hat and black lace gloves, which we would typically wear for formal occasions in those days.
