Prac­tis­ing spell­ing with our grand­daugh­ter Heidi (4) we spelt the word ‘bug’. We told her to sound the let­ters out loud, which she did, and gave her a clue say­ing, “you don’t like th­ese, Heidi.” She promptly replied “mush­rooms”.
