YOURS (UK) - - Remember When -

This photo was taken in the early Sixties. I’m wearing one of those pleated dresses where you could cut it to the length you wanted without having to hem it. I styled it with white shoes and the fashionable bouffant hair of the time – of course! Mrs Joyce Sheppard, Worcester

Here I am on the right with my friend Sue rocking our big hair. We went to the salon every Saturday to achieve this look – our hair was so stiff that it hardly moved all week! Plenty of lacquer was needed in those days. We are still the best of friends after 55 years. Christine Young, Southampton

I was on holiday with my best friend Heather in Torquay when this was taken. Heather is on the left in a cerise pink dress and I’m on the right wearing a cream and brown dress – we made these outfits ourselves. We’ve been friends for 65 years and still buy materials for sewing and exchange ideas for craft projects. Janice Brown, by email

This was taken at our friend’s wedding in the autumn. Margaret, on the right, chose a dress in shades of plum with light beige accessories. My dress was a terracotta colour and my green shoes were dyed to match my handbag and hat. The tights I wore made the short dresses far more comfortable. Sylvia Pink, Dorset
