All sewn up

YOURS (UK) - - Your Letters -

I thoroughly enjoyed the recent article Sewing With Mother. In the Fifties and Sixties I used to go to a department store in Dundee called Draffens. You could choose your pattern and fabric and an assistant would check your measurements. While you went for a cuppa she would cut out the garment for you. This was especially useful if you were making something with expensive material as you only paid for the exact yardage required. Doreen Black, Kincardineshire Every original contribution published gets a £10 High Street voucher, so keep all those letters and emails coming in.
