Materials:

Medium-sized potato

Star-shaped cookie cutter

Chopping board Sharp knife

Kitchen paper or dry cloth

Red paint and saucer to hold the paint

A3 white paper

1 Cut a potato in half, keeping the surface as flat as possible. Place a star-shaped cookie cutter on a chopping board with the cutting edge facing upwards and press the potato down on it. Cut away the excess potato using a sharp knife.

2. If the potato is wet, blot it on kitchen paper. Pour the paint into a saucer and dip the potato into the paint, making sure that the whole shape is covered.

3. To ensure the whole design prints properly, use a gentle rocking motion on the paper, moving the potato from side to side without lifting. Continue printing, then allow the design to dry.
