First built in 1886 New dou­ble track opened on May 24, 2018 Lo­ca­tion: the Carpathian Moun­tains, on the border of Lviv and Zakarpat­tia blasts Part of the fifth pan-euro­pean trans­port cor­ri­dor con­nect­ing Italy, Slove­nia, Hun­gary, Slo­vakia and Ukraine. The sec­ond long­est rail­way tun­nel in Ukraine af­ter Lu­tuhynsk tun­nel in Rus­sia-oc­cu­pied Luhansk Oblast. Length: 1,764.5 me­ters. Width: 10.5 me­ters. Height: 8.5 me­ters. Ca­pac­ity: 100 trains per day. Train speed: 60 km/h. Cost: Hr 2.39 bil­lion (funded by Ukrza­l­iznyt­sya, loans from Euro­pean In­vest­ment Bank and Euro­pean Bank for Re­con­struc­tion and De­vel­op­ment).
