Spreading the joy of cricket in Kyiv

Kyiv Post - - National -

In India, cricket is practically a religion. In Ukraine, however, it still has a long way to go to gain recognition. But Indian diplomats and expats hope to one day make this sport just as popular among Ukrainians, too. And that’s why they turned out to support Ukraine’s Champions Trophy 2017 cricket tournament, which took place at the sports ground of Kyiv’s National Aviation University on Sept. 3. Six teams participated in the tournament, organized by Hardeep Singh, the president of the Ukrainian Cricket Association. Bob Trade Sports Club Kharkiv won the tournament, beating Kyiv Cricket Club in the final. Bob Trade Sports Club Kharkiv’s players are seen above, holding aloft the tournament trophy.
