101 Things to Do (Maui) - - Beyond The City -

Although the ROAD TO HANA can be negotiated by almost anyone in possession of a driver's license, there are easier ways to get there. You can spend a few bucks and take a private tour in a luxury vehicle; you can take in the view from reclining captain chairs in a POSH PASSENGER VAN; or you can motor in and (go) out on a hele combination of the two.

Some companies go to Hana and points beyond, then return the way they came via Hana Highway. Others go full circle, returning to civilization around the backside.

The Road to Hana: 52 miles, 617 curves and 54 bridges. Navigating and showing off the wondrous sights along the road to Hana is also something THE MAUI

TOURING COMPANY specializes in. And they do it in style. Starting with a morning pick-up in a Cadillac Escalade, guests are then treated to a continental breakfast. Next, tour Ho‘okipa to witness surfers (and maybe see some green sea turtles). Then, it's off on a Hana road trip adventure!

Once in Hana, guests are then treated to a LUNCH AT THE FIVE-STAR TRAVAASA HANA. The Maui Touring Company then leaves Hana via the less-traveled “backside” of the road to Hana, making one last stop at MAUIWINE, where guests sample Maui-harvested wine before heading back to Pa‘ia.

ROBERTS HAWAII’S all-day Heavenly Hana tour explores the area, with stops at Kaumahina State Wayside Park, Keanae Lookout and Peninsula, Waianapanapa State Park, Hana Town (of course), Kula Marketplace, Pools of Oheo, Wailua Falls and Ho‘okipa Beach Lookout.
