4 Wheel & Off Road - - DRIVELINES -

Call it FT-AC for short. Toyota does. The FT-AC concept “puts versatility at the forefront of its ethos” and “sparks authentic fun and conversation,” says Toyota. Parse the PR-speak and it does sound like fun, with imbedded, infrared cameras in the side mirrors to record trail adventures and foglights that can be taken off their pods and used for nighttime hiking or mountain biking.

Mechanical details for the concept truck were few, but Toyota envisions it with “advanced, torque-vectoring all-wheel drive” and “variable terrain-response settings and 4-wheel-lock functionality.” FT-AC “could offer a next-generation hybrid powertrain that blends fuel efficiency with rugged all-wheel-drive grunt.”
