Who Is Steve Burton Going To Play?
With Steve Burton set to appear any day now, everyone is speculating about whether or not he’ll play Jason, but no one’s actually talking… because they can’t!
“I have no idea how they are bringing Steve back,” Kelly Monaco (Sam) admitted at her fan club event. “The writers have been so tight-lipped, and there are [non-disclosure agreements]. I have five different versions in my head of what could potentially happen! All I know is that Billy Miller and I have worked our asses off [to reinvent Jason and Sam’s relationship] for the past three years. I’ve been so blessed, and I’ve had so much fun working with Billy that I hate to see that change.
“But don’t forget what I had with Steve’s Jason, too,” she added. “I haven’t seen Steve, outside of the Emmys a couple months ago, in over five years, so I’m ner- vous. I’m weirded out! I was thinking Steve was gone, he had left the building, dropped the mic. I put that to rest and found peace and had to move on.”
With viewers riled up over the mystery surrounding Burton’s return — he reported to the set for the first time on August 14 — executive producer Frank Valentini has fans right where he wants them! “It’s fun to guess,” the exec tells In Depth. “Why would you want to know what’s happening or know what the one or two possibilities are?
“And by the way, I don’t think anybody’s figured it out yet,” he adds. “Because it can’t just be about Steve, and it can’t just be about Sonny — it has to be about everyone. This human being is coming back into town, and it’s going to affect everybody who lives in Port Charles!”
“It’s nice to be home,” Burton tweeted after his first day at the studio.
Monaco would “hate” to lose what she and Miller have developed.
