We Speak Out After Dark
News, views and reviews from around the dial!
You know how, in our We Speak Out! column, we, well, speak out about what’s working (and isn’t) on the daytime soaps? Well, this column is just like that… only the shows are of the nighttime variety!
How Did Jack Die?
All summer, fans of the NBC hit THIS IS US have been asking themselves how Milo Ventimiglia’s Jack bit the dust. And while the season premiere — airing at 9 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 26 — won’t answer that question, creator Dan Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly that the episode will offer up “a huge piece of the puzzle.” Could that be why actors were given a script which did not include the premiere’s final scene? As for Kevin (played by THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ former Adam, Justin Hartley), EW reports that he will try to make a longdistance relationship with his ex work while off in Hollywood filming a new movie. And look for special guest star Sylvester Stallone, playing himself, to offer Kevin a little life advice when they cross paths on the set!
EASY COME, EASY GO
We’d love it if GREY’S ANATOMY would prescribe us an explanation for why it brought back Tessa Ferrer as a stronger, more appealing Leah, only to use her as a benchwarmer, then write her back off. Since the ABC drama also dropped Marika Dominczyk as Eliza ahead of Season 14, this new version of Leah might have been a fine match for suddenly-single old flame Arizona or, for that matter, a new love interest for DeLuca, who’s way too hot a property to spend a whole season on the backburner pining for Jo.
By season’s end, we’ll know what happened to Kevin
and Randall’s dad.
Careful, Jo… folks are dropping like flies at this hospital!
