Some big changes at THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL will alter the look of the canvas in the coming weeks — and Soaps In Depth is here to fill you in!
The In Depth Story: B&B has dropped Jacob Young (Rick) to recurring status. Confirming the news on Twitter, the actor seemed to be in good spirits about his status change with the soap, on which he made his television debut more than two decades ago. “All true,” the Emmy winner said. “I’m recurring and just starting to shoot a movie for Lifetime.”
After his first B&B run as Rick, Young went on to play GENERAL HOSPI- TAL’s Lucky and
ALL MY CHILDREN’s JR before returning to the fashion-set soap in 2011. Lately, he’s been concentrating more on his career as a musician, and his lightened workload at the soap will certainly give him time to focus on that endeavor. “I have been under contract [on daytime dramas] for 21 years, and this, to me, is a blessing,” he admitted. “I can now have the time to pursue all my passions.”
Young has been sharing snaps from his New Mexico movie set, which In Depth has confirmed is titled Deadly Desert Vacation and co-stars his former AMC wife, Alexa Havins (Babe).
Meanwhile, just a month after Courtney Hope’s Sally reunited with Thomas and left town, the actress is returning to the soap — and we hear it’s on a long-term basis.
“Well, guys! It’s official! Sally is coming back!” an excited Hope announced on Instagram. “Very happy to be back at B&B. Now, let’s see where Sally lands next!”
“Hopefully Sally and Steffy can unite and make a stronger force,” tweeted Hope.
With a lighter schedule at B&B, Young has reunited with AMC wife Havins (above) for a Lifetime thriller.
