More To Come!

Stay tuned, because Josh Swickard (Chase) is just getting started!

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Chase seemed nice enough when he showed up in February… but boy, this whole Nelle twist has made Finn’s long-lost brother a lot more interesting! Having found his footing in Port Charles, Josh Swickard is ready for the drama. In fact, the former band and theater geek has always been ready for it! “Both my parents were involved in performing,” he says, “so the rule was, you had to play instruments, sing and all that good stuff.”

But for all his training and experience getting laughs on Disney Channel’s LIV AND MADDIE, the actor was floored when he first landed in Port Charles. The show tapes so fast that “it’s like drinking from a firehose,” he quips. “You’re trying to ingest so much information in such a short time. There are days we’ve been on set for a long time, and when I finally get in my car, I go, ‘What just happened?’”

Fortunately, while Chase received a rather tepid welcome from locals, the actor’s had a very different experience. “Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) has been great, and so have Maurice Benard (Sonny), Steve Burton (Jason), Finola Hughes (Anna) — literally, I could list off the whole cast,” he raves. “I’ve shared scenes with almost everybody now, and they’ve all helped me in any way they could. And the veterans are masters! I’m blown away by their talents.”

The Best Part

As the former SoulCycle instructor has put the pedal to the medal, he’s gotten more comfortable with the pace… and “I love Harrison Chase,” Swickard gushes. “The sweetest thing about being an actor is part of my brain never grew up. Every time they hand me my badge and gun at the PCPD, my inner 8-year-old is like, ‘Yes!’”

He’s also enjoyed the opportunity to bring a piece of himself to his character. “The writers have gotten to know me, so

he’s Chase, but he’s also kind of Josh,” Swickard explains. “I don’t take anything too seriously. I’m a goofy guy, so sometimes I’ll deliver Chase’s lines that way. I’ve seen a couple of tweets from fans saying Chase is actually a dork. Yes! He started off super by-the-book, but now we’ve seen layers to him.”

Biker Boy: Before GH, the actor reveals that he was teaching “15 SoulCycle classes a week.”

The Pastor’s Son: “Some of my favorite moments talking about my faith have been in nightclubs at 4 a.m. with go-go dancers,” Swickard says.

Travel Bug: “My goal is to get out of L.A. every hiatus,” Swickard admits.

Late Bloomer: “Freshman year of high school, I was 5’2” tall,” admits the hunk.
