Wrights: Not Always Right

Air & Space Smithsonian - - Letters -

For someone of David Mccullough’s standing to assert that the Wright brothers had no flaws is absurd ( Air & Space Interview, June/july 2015). They were intent on achieving a monopoly in the airplane industry. They dismissed and discouraged the improvements of other aircraft developers. They maintained secrecy, and for several years insisted on signed contracts with potential military customers before they would provide flight demonstrations. The Wright brothers were human, not more than human.
