Po­lice: Man stole from ac­quain­tance

WHITE CREEK — A Water­vliet man is ac­cused of steal­ing and cash­ing checks to­talling more than $5,000 from an el­derly per­son he knew.

Wash­ing­ton County deputies ar­rested Zachary Woro­betz, 31, of Hud­son Court on a felony grand lar­ceny charge based on a war­rant by Colonie po­lice.

He was ar­raigned and jailed on $1,000 bail pend­ing a court date in White Creek. The crimes al­legedly took place be­tween Jan­uary and Fe­bru­ary.

Dad al­legedly drunk with a child in car

FONDA — State Po­lice in Fonda ar­rested an Am­s­ter­dam man Thurs­day for drunken driv­ing with a child un­der 16 in the ve­hi­cle.

Troop­ers found a dis­abled car in a ditch off Route 5 in the vil­lage of Fonda at 9:30 a.m. They also found Ja­son Han­cock, 35, out­side of the car hold­ing his 2-year-old child. The road was slick at the time, troop­ers said.

Han­cock was charged with driv­ing while in­tox­i­cated un­der Le­an­dra’s Law after he sub­mit­ted a 0.08 per­cent blood al­co­hol con­tent and re­leased.

War­rant re­sults in stalk­ing charge

KIN­DER­HOOK — State Po­lice said they ar­rested a Kin­der­hook man Fri­day, about eight months after they started an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into ha­rass­ing and un­wanted phone calls of a sex­ual na­ture.

Christo­pher Si­doti, 39, was ar­rested at his Birch Road home and charged with three counts of ag­gra­vated ha­rass­ment, a count of stalk­ing and re­sist­ing ar­rest. He was ar­raigned and re­leased on his own re­cog­ni­zance, pend­ing a Nov. 20 court date.
