Ichabod district projects detailed
The Ichabod Crane school district hosts a capital project public information night at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in the High School auditorium, 2910 Route 9 in Valatie, just south of the roundabout.
According to the school district, the event will include a comprehensive presentation on the proposed project, after which residents can visit informational booths on specific project topics where school officials will be available to answer questions.
The district is proposing a $27.12 million renovation project to strengthen its educational and athletic programs, modernize classrooms, and address health and safety and infrastructure needs throughout its campus, district leaders said.
The district anticipates getting 73.5 percent of the cost in state building aid, meaning the local share would total less than $7.2 million. The district will also apply $1 million in reserves to further cut the local tax impact.
