SCHODACK — Edith May Meiss­ner, born on March 20, 1918. Edith, age 100, slipped peace­fully from this world on July 6, 2018, at Ev­er­green Com­mons, East Greenbush.

Edith worked for W.T. Grants Com­pany for 40 years. Edith worked in var­i­ous jobs and ended her ca­reer in sales, by sell­ing an­tiques out of the “Vic­to­rian House” at Meiss­ners Auc­tion Ser­vices in New Le­banon. Edith, af­fec­tion­ately called Aunt Edie by many, loved to gar­den, read mys­tery nov­els, knit, to hook rugs and visit with friends. She and her sis­ters were mem­bers of Love Lutheran Church in East Greenbush for many years. Edith was cur­rently a mem­ber of the West Cen­tral Rens­se­laer County Lutheran Par­ish in N. Greenbush, and for­merly of Trin­ity Lutheran Church of W. Sand Lake. Edith was de­ter­mined for many years to reach the age of 100 and at­trib­uted her longevity to a love for cho­co­late.

Edith was pre­de­ceased by her par­ents, Charles Otto Wil­liam Meiss­ner and Ju­lia He­len (Nona­maker); and all her sis­ters, broth­ers, and sis­ters-in-law, Richard (Char­lotte), Vi­o­letta, Mar­garet, Robert (Rose), Charles (Genevieve), and Fran­cis (Mary) Meiss­ner. She was also pre­de­ceased by her neph­ews in­fant, Fran­cis Meiss­ner Jr.; Marine Sergeant Ma­jor Don­ald Meiss­ner, Roland Meiss­ner, and her beloved god­son, Keith R. Meiss­ner Sr.; and great-nephew, Paul Coomes.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to at­tend her funeral ser­vice 10 a.m. Mon­day, July 16, at the West Cen­tral Rens­se­laer County Lutheran Par­ish, Win­ter Street ex­ten­sion, North Greenbush. Friends and fam­ily are in­vited to her call­ing hours Sunday af­ter­noon 11 a.m. - 1 p. m. at the Rock­e­feller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rens­se­laer.
