Hockford, Richard B.

CLIFTON PARK — Richard B. Hockford, age 72 of Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the V.A. Hospital in Albany. Born on December 8, 1945, in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Howard and Mary Hockford. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Pearl.

Richard graduated from Notre Dame-bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady in 1965. While attending, he was part of the basketball team. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-68. He spent his career working for the

U.S. Postal Service for over 40 years. He enjoyed bowling and taking trips to Indian Lake where he loved to fish and hike. He also was an avid sports fan, and loved to watch his two favorite teams the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Le Hockford; sons, Larry (Jennifer) Hockford, and Matt (Heather) Hockford; his daughter Linda (David) Hockford Hayes; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Kayla, and Malana.
