National Treasures

Proud to be an American: The people, place & things that make us unique

Albuquerque Journal - Parade - - FRONT PAGE -

America has a lot to celebrate. We’re the country of front porches and potato chips, Converse sneakers and John Deere tractors. We invented the National Park System that protects 84 million acres of wilderness. We brought the world the clear-eyed innocence of Scout Finch and the joy of the high five. We’re the birthplace of brilliant dreamers who change lives in wide-ranging ways. And we’re the country that declared more than 230 years ago that all people are created equal and have a right not only to be free but also to be happy. Here, Parade highlights a few of the uniquely American people, places and things that make us very, very happy.
