A: The FX se­ries, loosely in­spired by the cult 1996 Coen broth­ers movie, has a dark, quirky un­der­tone that con­tin­ues to at­tract top act­ing tal­ent. Sea­son three, which pre­mieres Wed­nes­day night, April 19, stars Ewan McGre­gor, Jim Gaf­fi­gan, Scoot McNairy, Car­rie Coon and Mary El­iz­a­beth Win­stead, who plays Nikki Swango, a parolee with a pas­sion for com­pet­i­tive bridge. Win­stead, 32, says she was drawn to the show be­cause it was “funny and sad and scary all at the same time.”
