Ruidoso schools receive grants

Ruidoso school administrators got a rare piece of very good financial news earlier this month — a pair of state grants that will pump approximately $500,000 into the district’s two elementary schools for each of the next four years.

School Supt. George Bickert said the money will pay for major new efforts to boost classroom performance of all of the district’s youngest students, but especially those from disadvantaged families.
