-

Scott Noel Tregembo, an avid musician and skilled carpenter, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5th, 2017, surrounded by his treasured wife and two daughters. He was 63 years old. His life came to an end after bravely facing a cancer diagnosis last year. He was born in Ironwood, MI on January 11, 1954 and graduated from Grants High School in 1972.

Scott was an extraordinary musician, primarily playing the bass guitar. He loved working at music shops, including Serenade and King Music. Following his heart, which he always did, he opened Scott’s Music Shop in 1975 in Corrales, NM. He was a natural when it came to music. From the time he could play a guitar, he was in a band. Over the course of his life, he was a member of Gremlins, Stonehenge, Quarter Moon, Jonah, Barnaby, Deputy Dan, and Group Therapy. He played his final gig with Group Therapy just two weeks ago.

Scott was also a phenomenal and compassionate businessman. He opened Albuquerque Cabinets and Countertops, located on Montano, in 1982. His business flourished for 34 years, not only because of his skilled craftsmanship but because of his sharp business sense and genuine compassion for his employees and customers. He was a seasoned, self-taught woodworker who valued being an active member in the National Architectural Woodworkers’ Institute (AWI).

Scott fiercely loved his family and friends. He loved celebrating life with good times, good food, and good beer, especially at Sadie’s. He had an infectious laugh, a warm, welcoming smile, and made everyone feel at ease. Scott also had many cherished hobbies, including golf, poker, travel, photography and he absolutely loved being a dog owner.

Scott is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Toni Tregembo; his two daughters, Jamie and husband, Jeremiah Bal, Jessi and husband, Chris Cordova; granddaughter, Aleah Cordova; mother, Marianne Tregembo; sister, Tracy and brother-in-law, Tom Camplain; mother-in-law, Teresa Chavez; and many nieces and nephews. His father and best friend, Rhoderic preceded him in death.

If he could tell you one last thing, he would say "live life to the fullest." Scott, we love you. You will remain in our hearts forever.
