ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Denver Broncos running back De’Angelo Henderson is recovering from minor shoulder and ankle injuries he sustained over the weekend when his Jeep was hit by a driver fleeing police in a stolen vehicle.

KCNC-TV in Denver reported that a 36-year-old woman was in custody after she allegedly struck several vehicles while evading police Saturday night in Parker, Colorado, sending four people to the hospital, where they were held overnight.

Henderson discussed the crash on his Instagram page Monday and called it “the most traumatic event I’ve probably ever had to deal with.”

He thanked the Parker Police Department and South Metro Fire Rescue as well as the doctors who treated him at Parker Adventist hospital.

He said he was “T-boned, airborne, flipped, and rolled” in the accident but was able to get himself out of his damaged Jeep and suffered only “minor injuries with a few scrapes and bruises.”

“I’m very grateful and humbled to be alive,” Henderson wrote. “… My thoughts and prayers are with the other victims and I hope they are all safe and doing well.”

Team spokesman Patrick Smyth said Henderson was back at team headquarters Monday preparing for next week’s on-field work in which the offense and defense will square off for the first time this offseason.

Henderson will compete with Devontae Booker and rookie Royce Freeman for carries in the Broncos’ backfield this season. Freeman, who starred at Oregon, was selected in the third round of last month’s NFL Draft.

Henderson was the star of training camp last summer but was buried on the depth chart behind C.J. Anderson, Jamaal Charles and Booker last season, when he had just seven carries and two catches, one of which went for a touchdown.

KIRK: The Arizona Cardinals say they were aware before they drafted him that wide receiver Christian Kirk had been arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and property damage.

Azcentral.com reported the arrest and the Cardinals’ reaction to it.

The arrest occurred outside the Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament on Feb. 3. Scottsdale police said Kirk was with a group that was intoxicated and throwing rocks at cars.

Azcentral.com quoted a Cardinals spokesman as saying that team officials spoke to Kirk at length about the incident and it is the team’s understanding that the matter “will be resolved in the near future.”

The case is pending and the team spokesman said there would be no further comment.

The Cardinals drafted Kirk in the second round. He was a standout at Saguaro High in Scottsdale and played at Texas A&M.

JACKSON: Browns coach Hue Jackson announced he’ll make good on a promise to jump into Lake Erie on June 1.

After the Browns went 1-15 in 2016, Jackson vowed to jump into the lake if they finished with the same record the next season. They proceeded to become just the second team in NFL history to go 0-16.

Jackson’s leap will be reserved for Browns employees and held at a private location. The coach reiterated he will use the event to raise money for the Hue Jackson Foundation, which he launched last year with his wife, Michelle, to combat human trafficking throughout Northeast Ohio. With the help of the Salvation Army, the foundation is scheduled to open a residence home for human trafficking survivors in mid-July in Cleveland.
