Tent Rocks closures OK’d

In keeping with the administra­tion’s priorities of being good neighbors and respecting the ties that native and traditiona­l communitie­s have to public lands, the Bureau of Land Management is announcing that the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument will be closed on Friday, Saturday and July 25. This closure allows for Pueblo de Cochiti cultural observance­s and routine BLM maintenanc­e.

The BLM manages the monument in close cooperatio­n with the pueblo, which requested the closure. The monument is closed 12 days throughout the year: Jan. 6, the Friday before Easter, Easter Sunday, the Monday after Easter, May 3, July 13-14, July 25, Nov. 1, Thanksgivi­ng Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
