HONORED: Former longtime Pojoaque Valley High School girls basketball coach and athletic director Matt Martinez and Los Alamos native Roy Sanchez, a longtime Eldorado High School boys basketball coach, were a part of the New Mexico High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor 2018 class.

MORE HONORS: Several locals were named coach of the year in their respective sports by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association: Patrick Ortiz, Pecos, girls cross country; Mel Rael, Pecos, wrestling; Ira Harge, Jr., Pecos, boys basketball and Benny Mitchell, Taos, girls track and field.
