Our Congress is ceding its lawmaking duties to courts

-

MITCH MCCONNELL made his deal with the devil and so have all of the rest of the Republicans in Congress. Trump ran on packing the courts with conservative judges. And McConnell has chosen to be singularly focused on only one thing these last four years; the courts. There has been no other legislation except for the tax cut that has engaged the Republicans more than stacking the courts with conservative judges. He will do anything to give Trump the win so Trump can say he is the only president in history that has put three Supreme Court justices on the bench . ...

And do you know why they want these judges? Because they have decided that legislating, which requires hard work at compromise and working together, is now beyond all of them. They just want the courts to decide every matter at hand now.

For instance, look at the ACA. Where is their plan? They have none . ... There is no consensus building. There is no passing laws that are hammered through the Congress. They simply want to pass everything to the courts. This is now their substitute for legislating.

... Our only recourse is to get out the vote and take away their majority so we have a chance at getting the Congress to do its job again. Then the courts won’t matter as much and the republic will function as it was meant to: three equal branches of government all doing their part to make our republic function for the people.
