Sciamat strives to re-confer merited dignity on the most ancient and fascinating of textile fibers, often brushed aside by trends and synthetic fibers: for Sciamat, linen remains a classic of Summer clothing in all its possible hues and suitable for all occasions, whether during the day or the evening. Sciamat proposes it in its tuxedo with linen lapels that assumes an informal chic for summer ceremonies on the beach and in a double-breasted suit with a slightly retro cut. The English linen exalts the form of the lapels, the heft of the arm holes and the sinuosity of the slim fit. The beauty of this fabric is maintained naturally by a light structure with no inner lining or canvas, resulting in a jacket as light as a shirt, its structure sustained only by the meticulously handcut and hand-stitched tailoring imparted by Valentino Ricci, the founder and designer of maison Sciamat. In the current collection, Sciamat, as usual, refrains from upsetting the coordinates of “classic clothes,” although Ricci has savantly updated the forms and proportions to make them ever more contemporary, continuing to lay out what can be described as the lines that founded the story of the “classic man.”
