Ducati 900 Super Sport
Ducati 900 Super Sport, on the other hand, was designed to compete against the Japanese motorcycles in the 750+ HP category. Initially, the Bolognese producer realized a road model of the 860 GT, but then preferred to invest in the 900 Super Sport, a racing version of the 750 SS Desmo, some six feet long and a bit over 23 inches wide, with a 30-inch-high seat. The four-stroke engine had electronic ignition and two cylinders with cast iron heads that reached 140 mph and contributed notably to the overall weight of the product: 432 lbs. The bike sported a five-speed transmission and an oil-bath multidisk clutch on a double-cradle tubular frame. The front suspension is tele-hydraulic and that in the rear has a large swing-arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. The front brakes have an 11-inch double disc, while the rear brake is a single 9-inch disc.
