An historic caffè in Rome, first opened in 1760 and situated in via Condotti just a few paces from Piazza di Spagna and the Trinità dei Monti steps. A meeting place for intellectuals since its earliest days, its most famous clients have been: Gabriele Annunzio, Wagner, Gogol, Mendelssohn, Leopardi, Stendhal, Schopenhauer and Orson Welles. It’s a place where you can breathe an atmosphere full of charm, of times-gone-by, surrounded by nineteenthcentury furniture with the aroma of coffee wafting and the scent of art history. Inside, more than 300 historic artworks and antiques are on display creating an imposing gallery, thereby narrating its long and illustrious history peopled by intellectuals, scholars and great personalities.
