In Danny Lyon: Memories of the Southern Civil
Rights Movement, the Delaware Art Museum highlights the work of Lyon, a giant of postwar documentary photography and film. Lyon began his photographic career in the early 1960s as the first staff photographer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, and from 1963 and 1964, he traveled the southern and mid-atlantic states documenting the Civil Rights movement. The exhibition opens June 30 and remains on view through September 9.
