In Danny Lyon: Memories of the South­ern Civil

Rights Move­ment, the Delaware Art Mu­seum high­lights the work of Lyon, a gi­ant of post­war documentary pho­tog­ra­phy and film. Lyon be­gan his pho­to­graphic ca­reer in the early 1960s as the first staff pho­tog­ra­pher for the Stu­dent Non­vi­o­lent Co­or­di­nat­ing Com­mit­tee, and from 1963 and 1964, he trav­eled the south­ern and mid-at­lantic states doc­u­ment­ing the Civil Rights move­ment. The exhibition opens June 30 and re­mains on view through Septem­ber 9.
