Wendy Will­rich re­cently de­cided that the Crocker Art Mu­seum should be­come the home for her col­lec­tion of 41 early Cal­i­for­nia paint­ings. Rang­ing from the 1870s through the 1940s, the col­lec­tion be­gins with im­ages of Cal­i­for­nia’s Sierra Ne­vada scenery, continues with Bar­bizon-in­spired and Ton­al­ist land­scapes, which give way to plein air im­pres­sion­ist and post-im­pres­sion­ist scenes.the paint­ings will form the exhibition

Na­ture’s Gift, on view through April 26, 2020.
