Objects of Our Affections

Although Disney’s Frozen won’t arrive in theaters until later this month, collectors are already clamoring to get their hands on all kinds of sweet tie-in toys, books and colorful merchandise related to the lavish 3-D production. We love the beautiful The Art of Frozen book, penned by brilliant historian and Animag contributor Charles Solomon (Disney Editions, $40) as well as the charming Little Golden Book adaptation (Random House, $3.59) for preschoolers. Then, there are all the quirky toys and play sets, including Olaf the Snowman and Sven the Moose plush toys, the glam Elsa doll that actually changes colors and the memorable soundtrack (which features 32 tracks, including “Let It Go,” the big showstopper by Idina Menzel, and Olaf’s hilarious “In Summer” performed by Josh Gad). If you have any girls in the house, they’ll be singing those numbers all through the holiday season, so you’d better learn to love them.
