Still Quick on the Draw

“Big enough to matter, small enough to care.” That’s how studio founder and CEO Wayne Dearing describes Top Draw Animation, the digital animation pre-production and production service provider he founded in the Philippines in 1999. From early days, Top Draw has provided quality toon know-how for high profile projects like Warner Bros.’ Static Shock, building a worldwide reputation and tackling some of the biggest digital 2D series around for clients like DHX Media, Wildbrain, Hasbro, Cromosoma, Imira, Moonscoop and other global players.

Top Draw’s project list is hard to narrow down to a best-known show—the studio recently celebrated the delivery of its 1,000th half-hour of TV, after all. Forced to choose, Dearing points out his company’s recent work on hit franchise productions like Hasbro Studios’ My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Mattel’s Monster High. Other cool productions currently in the works at the Pasig City facility, which now employs over 300 staff, include Astroblast! (Sprout), Julius Jr. (Nick Jr.), Skinner Boys (Nine Network Australia, Super RTL Germany) and Exchange Student Zero (Cartoon Network Asia-Pacific). And the secret to Top Draw’s success? “We love the product, and we love the people,” sums up Dearing.drawanima
