9 hdc = 4 inches; 8 rows = 4 inches in half dou­ble cro­chet 11 sc = 4 inches; 13 rows = 4 inches in sin­gle cro­chet

Pat­tern Notes

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. When 1 set of num­bers is given, it ap­plies to all sizes. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated. Chain-2 at be­gin­ning of row counts as first half dou­ble cro­chet un­less oth­er­wise stated.

Spe­cial Stitch

Half dou­ble cro­chet join (hdc join): Place slip knot on hook, yo, in­sert hook in in­di­cated st, yo and pull up a lp, yo, and draw through all lps on hook.

Row 1: With blue, ch 21 [25, 29], hdc in 3rd ch from hook (beg sk chs count as first hdc) and in each ch across, turn. (20 [24, 28] hdc)

Top of Foot

Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in next 9 [11, 13] hdc, leav­ing rem sts un­worked, turn. (10 [12, 14] hdc)

Rows 2–12 [2–13, 2–14]: Rep rows 2–12 [2–13, 2–14] of Top of Foot of Left Slip­per.

Sole

Make 2.

Row 1: With taupe, ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (6 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last sc, turn. (8 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Rows 4 & 5 [4–7, 4–9]: Rep rows 2 and 3 once [twice, 3 times]. (10 [12, 14] sc)

Rows 6–20 [8–22, 10–24]: Ch 1, sc in first sc and in each sc across, turn.

Assem­bly

Fold Leg in half with RS tog, match­ing ends of rows, sew tog last 2 rows at base of Leg.

Match RS of Sole and RS of Top of Foot and Leg open­ing and pin in place. With blue, loosely sl st Sole to Slip­per, join in beg sl st and fas­ten off. Turn RS out.

Join blue at bot­tom of side open­ing of Slip­per, sc evenly along ends of rows, across op­po­site side of foun­da­tion ch and along ends of rows on other side of open­ing. Fas­ten off.

Rep for 2nd Slip­per.

Fin­ish­ing Ties

Make 2.

With taupe, beg with 5-inch tail, ch 80, fas­ten off, leav­ing 5-inch tail.

Us­ing photo as a guide, lace Ties through side open­ings of Slip­pers.

Pom­pom

Make 4.

With taupe, make small (ap­prox­i­mately 11/2-inch) pom­pom. Us­ing 5-inch tail, attach 1 pom­pom to each end of ch. 
