These el­e­gant ear­rings work up quickly in only a few rounds. The un­usual oval shape is a nice back­drop for the glass pearl beads.

Pat­tern Notes

Weave in loose ends as work pro­gresses. Join with slip stitch as in­di­cated un­less oth­er­wise stated.

Ear­rings

Make 2.

Rnd 1: Leav­ing a 15-inch length at beg, ch 2, 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in first hdc. (10 hdc)

Rnd 2: [Ch 4, sk next hdc, sl st in next hdc] 4 times, ch 4, sk next hdc, join with last sl st in same st as beg ch- 4. (5 ch- 4 lps)

Rnd 3: Sl st in first ch lp, ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, tr) in same ch lp as beg ch-1, ch 1, (tr, dc, hdc, sc) in 2nd ch lp, 4 sc in 3rd ch lp, (hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, 2 dc, hdc) in 4th ch lp, 4 sc in 5th ch lp, join in first sc. Fas­ten off. (24 sts, 1 ch-1 sp)

BEADS & LACE EAR­RINGS

Assem­bly

Block Ear­rings if nec­es­sary. Thread bead­ing nee­dle with rem beg length, sew a pearl bead to cen­ter of rnd 1.

With nee­dle-nose pli­ers, open lp on ear­ring wire, in­sert in ch-1 sp of rnd 3, pinch se­curely to close. Thread a pearl bead on head pin, with wire cut­ters trim head pin to 1/2 inch above bead, bend in a lp. In­sert be­tween 2 tr sts op­po­site ear­ring wire be­fore pinch­ing closed. 
