Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] twice. (6 sc)

Sew Nose to cen­ter front of Head.

Eyes

With black em­broi­dery floss, em­broi­der satin stitch (see il­lus­tra­tion) Eyes cen­tered above Nose.

Mouth

Cen­tered be­low Nose, with black em­broi­dery floss, em­broi­der V-shape mouth with straight stitches (see il­lus­tra­tion).

But­tons

With black em­broi­dery floss, em­broi­der 3 French knots (see il­lus­tra­tion) evenly sp down cen­ter of Body.

Hat

Row 1: Start­ing at bot­tom of Hat with green, ch 14, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (13 sc)

Rows 2– 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 7: Ch 1, sk first st, sc dec in next 2 sc, sc in each of next 7 sc, sk next st, sc dec in next 2 sc. Fas­ten off. (9 sc)

Hat­band

Row 1: Work­ing in op­po­site side of foun­da­tion ch of row 1 of Hat, join red thread with sl st in first ch, ch 1, hdc in each st across. Fas­ten off. (13 hdc)

Brim

Row 2: With WS fac­ing, join green with sl st in Hat Band, ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, [sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times, turn. (20 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, do not turn.

Rnd 4: Now work­ing in rnds around out­side of Hat and Brim, work 9 sc up side of Hat, work­ing across top (row 7), 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 7 sts, 2 sc in last st, work 9 sc down other side of Hat, across Brim work 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 18 sts, 2 sc in last st, join (see Pat­tern Notes) in beg sc. Leav­ing 16-inch length, fas­ten off. (51 sc)

Po­si­tion Hat over top edge of Head, sewing along sides and top of Hat, stuff­ing lightly with fiber­fill, sew to Head just be­low the Hat­band. Do not sew edge of Brim.

First Half of Scarf

Row 1: With red thread, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 2 chs, turn. (3 sc)

Rows 2–19: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 20: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, fas­ten off.

2nd Half of Scarf

Rows 1–13: Rep rows 1–13 of First Half of Scarf.

Row 14: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, fas­ten off.

Sew row 1 of First Half of Scarf to side of neck­line on right edge of Snow­man and 2nd Half of Scarf to side of neck­line on left edge of Snow­man.

Fringe

Cut 12 lengths of red thread each 3 inches long. *Fold 2 strands in half, in­sert hook in sc at end of Scarf, draw strands through at fold to form a lp on hook, draw cut ends through lp on hook, pull gently to se­cure, rep from * in each sc on each end of Scarf. Trim ends even.

But­ton

Sew red but­ton to row 16 on back side of Back­ground. 
