Press­ing Seams a Sec­ond Time

Some­times it is not pos­si­ble to plan the proper di­rec­tion to press the seams in the blocks. In the case of the Sweet Dreams blocks, the seams can eas­ily be pressed again in the op­po­site di­rec­tion af­ter they have been joined in rows.

You will want the seams of the blocks in one row to lock into the seams of the ad­ja­cent rows. Af­ter mak­ing the rows and lay­ing them out in the or­der to stitch to­gether, check seam press­ing. If two blocks that will be joined have seams go­ing in the same di­rec­tion, re-press the seams so one block has seams go­ing op­po­site from the other block as shown in Fig­ure A.
