Af­ter trim­ming, all outer edges will be bias and may stretch eas­ily. To help avoid this, set your ma­chine to a 1.5 stitch length and stitch 1/8" from the edge all around. Be care­ful not to pull the fab­ric as you stitch. This stitch­ing is called staystitch­ing. It is used most of­ten in cloth­ing con­struc­tion on curved ar­eas to help re­duce dis­tor­tion and stretch­ing.
