Significant improvement seen in state’s home sales for March
LITTLE ROCK — Realtors across Arkansas experienced an increase in the number of homes sold during March, according to a report distributed by the Arkansas Realtors Association on Wednesday.
The total number of homes sold during March rose by 15.77 percent as compared to last year. The average price of those homes sold rose from $146,493 in March 2014 to $158,959 this March, an increase of 8.51 percent. Statewide valuations for the month rose by 25.62 percent.
Jonathan Moore, 2015 ARA president, said he is encouraged by the growth reflected in the report.
“It’s exciting and comforting to see such an improvement in the Arkansas housing market so far this year,” he said. “Interest rates are low, and the job market is improving. These things are giving buyers the confidence they need to invest in their future by buying homes.”
