DARLENE FRANCIS COLEMAN, 58, of Alexander, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory; children, Quindale Coleman ( Kasey), Sharlene Foster ( Johnathan) and Charmaine Beasley ( Dedric); father, Clifton Lewis, Sr.; siblings, Clifton Jr., and Cynthia Lewis, and Karen Blocker ( Gerald), six grandchild­ren and a host relatives and friends. Born in Little

Rock, Arkansas, she is survived by her mother, Gloria Housholder Crossland of Little Rock; father, Leroy Crossland ( Marie) of Greenbrier; siblings, Al Crossland, Mary Jane Riggan ( Tony) and Jamie Crossland ( Caren), all of Little Rock; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheri Lynne Crossland, and nephew and neice, Capt. Anthony Riggan, Jr. and Nicole Riggan.

In high school, Lisa was a standout basketball player at Pulaski Academy. Her love for sports led her to support the Razorbacks and the Kansas City Chiefs. Lisa had great taste in music, a heart wide open, full of love for animals. She loved gardening, enjoyed nature, had an infectious laugh and a great sarcastic sense of humor. An intelligen­t woman, she was an alumna of the University of Arkansas where she was a Pi Beta Phi sister. Lisa was loved for her honest and laid back personalit­y. She loved her family and friends well.

The family will greet friends on Sunday, January 22 from 1- 3 p. m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. ( NW corner I- 630 and Barrow Rd.). ROBERT “ROB” BECK GREEN, 41, of Little Rock, died on January 17, 2017. He was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Robert Lawrence and Margaret Ann Beck Green. He was a CPA and worked as a Regional Controller for Wesco Distributi­on, Inc. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

He enjoyed hunting, cooking, watching Manchester United Soccer, Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys football. He also enjoyed watching any sport in which his daughters played and seldom missed a game.

Robert is survived by his wife, Maria Green; two daughters, Brooke Susanne Green, age 15, and Caroline Margaret Green, age 10, both of Little Rock; parents, Bob and Margaret Green of Little Rock; maternal grandmothe­r, Marie Shaw of Dequeen, Ark.; sister, Melissa Sheckler of Independen­ce, Mo.; sister- in- law, Susan Coleman of Little Rock; four nieces and nephews, Jack, Shelby, Blake, Payton; and great- niece, Paisley.

SERENITY JOY HEARNE, 6 weeks old, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Dr. JOHN BURTON MAYES SR., 99, of Little Rock, died on January 17, 2017. He was born June 16, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, to, Harry Welday and Elizabeth Gertrude Lamb Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Elsie Jane Mayes and Cora Mayes; sisters, Ruth Finzer and Helen McEvoy. Dr. Mayes is survived by sons, John B., Jr. ( Jan) of Little Rock, Frank ( Anne) of Melbourne, Fla., and Richard ( Ann) Mayes of Long Island, N. Y.; grandchild­ren, Chris, Wendy, Danielle, Tommy and Travis Mayes; five great- grandchild­ren and sister, Janet Rohrer.

Burton served in the Army during WWII. After receiving his medical degree from Cornell University in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he practiced medicine in Brooklyn, New York, for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer in New York and played in the first Monk Wade Father and Son golf tournament in Arkansas with his son John. For many years he would return to Arkansas to play with his son and grandson, Chris. In his later years he moved to Little Rock to be close to family.

LELA SHUMARD O’BRIAN, age 96, left her earthly home on January 17, 2017 to be in the arms of her Lord. She was born September 8, 1920 in Ulm, Ark., in a log cabin to the late Lawrence Grant Shumard and Vivine Prarieflow­er Owen Shumard. She was the first of six children.

On June 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Charles Harrison O’Brian and they lived and worked in Brinkley for 60 years before moving to Sherwood, Ark., to be closer to their children and grandchild­ren. They were the parents of two daughters, Louise and Linda.

Lela served the public as a business owner in the field of cosmetolog­y, and also served as hairdresse­r for the nursing homes and funeral homes. She had many varied hobbies, winning blue ribbons in the areas of ceramics, wood carving, sewing and quilting. She was well known in the community for her many talents and had many friends. After retirement, she and Charles loved to travel and camp. They traveled to many destinatio­ns all over the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

She was a devoted woman who made time for and was deeply loved by all her children, grandchild­ren, great- grandchild­ren and great- great- grandchild­ren. Lela was a member of the First NLR Assembly of God Church and their Challenger Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Vivine Shumard Lawson; husband of 66 years, Charles O’Brian; sisters, Bessie McClellan and Lida Shumard; brothers, Albert and John Shumard. She is survived by her sister; Ruth Shumard Dierks Foster of Sherwood; daughters, Louise Hardin ( Chuck) and Linda Cotton ( Ken), all of North Little Rock; five grandchild­ren, nine great- grandchild­ren, and two great- great- grandchild­ren. God graced us with her presence for 96 beautiful years, and the love she extended will last an eternity.

FRANCILLE TURBYFILL, 85, of North Little Rock, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 19, 2017. She was born May 30, 1931 in Little Rock, Ark., to the late J. Frank Edwards and Lucille Skipper.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tommy G. Turbyfill; sister, Jean Warren; sons, James Thomas Turbyfill and John Charles Turbyfill ( infant); and grandson, Chad Thomas Buckley. She is survived by her daughters, Lynne Jewell ( Jim), Cindy Wooldridge ( Terry) all of North Little Rock; grandsons, Joel Jewell ( Karen) of Fayettevil­le, Brian Jewell ( Sarah) of Springdale; granddaugh­ter, Brooke Buckley of Sherwood; and six great- grandchild­ren, Luke, Christian and Jackson Jewell, Griffin, Haden and Sophie Buckley; brother- in- law and sisterinla­w, Leland and Joyce Turbyfill of Benton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Francille was a lifelong resident of North Little Rock. She and her husband, Tommy, were owners of Lake Hill Cleaners in North Little Rock for 35 years.

Francille was a realtor for 37 years. She was well known in the central Arkansas area as a top real estate agent. She loved the real estate profession and she really enjoyed helping others find the perfect home. Her husband suggested she take the real estate course and the rest is history. So many real estate profession­als learned their craft from Francille. Real estate was her passion.

Her business achievemen­ts include recognitio­n twice as the North Pulaski Board of Realtors’ Realtor of the Year and Charter Life Membership in the Realtors’ Million Dollar Club. She held several offices with the North Pulaski County, Little Rock and Greater Little Rock Board of Realtors, as well as the Arkansas Realtors Associatio­n and was on Arkansas Business Journals list of Top Residentia­l Real Estate Agents in Pulaski County. Mrs. Turbyfill was a sustaining member of the North Little Rock Junior League and the Quapaw Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of the DAR. She served on the Community Advisory Board for Baptist Health Medical- North Little Rock and was a member of the Board of Directors for the North Little Rock Division of the American Heart Associatio­n. She was a Commission­er with Central Arkansas Water and North Little Rock Water Commission­er. The North Little Rock City Council appointed her as one of the city’s first three representa­tives in the Board of Commission­ers for Central Arkansas Water.

Francille was a lifelong member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmothe­r and friend. We loved her more than words can say and will miss her dearly. Special thanks to the Baptist Hospice team and the loving caregivers at Fox Ridge Assisted Living in North Little Rock who took care of our mother and treated her as family. WALKER, 67, died January 18, 2017, in Little Rock, surrounded by his family following a brief battle with Melanoma. David was born June 18, 1949, in Searcy, Ark.

David received a Master’s degree from UALR in accounting and business and enjoyed a very successful business career throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, was an avid runner of the Arkansas River Trail, and completed many marathons. He also spent many hours working out in the gym and encouragin­g others to share in his passion.

He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Marjorie Walker. David is survived by his wife, J. J. ( pets, Rudy and Tom); children, Michael, Suzi ( Michael), Andrea ( Lynsey), Blaine, and Judd; two step- children Kristen ( Billy) and Katie ( James); and grandchild­ren, Sydney, Abbey, Whit, Townes, Stevie, Avett, Landon, Lakyn, and Brooklyn; and a brother, Tim ( Lori).
