Arkansas Democrat-Gazette - - ARKANSAS -

North Little Rock’s City Council approved last week adding $87,000 to the Counts Massie Road extension project in conjunction with neighboring Maumelle for design and engineering services.

The contract is with McClelland Engineers. North Little Rock’s share of the cost is $61,770, with Maumelle paying $25,230.

The North Little Rock City Council approved in August a $445,131 contract for its share of the Counts Massie extension, which is intended to lead to a new entrance/ exit off Interstate 40 and provide a link to Maumelle Boulevard, which traverses both cities.

“We wanted to hire the engineer who did the design work for Maumelle’s part,” said Nathan Hamilton, North Little Rock’s communications director. “We feel more comfortable having that same outfit to keep an eye on it while construction is progressing.”
