Of­fi­cer steps into rob­bery sit­u­a­tion

An off-duty po­lice of­fi­cer stum­bled upon an armed holdup at a Sub­way restau­rant in Lit­tle Rock and ar­rested the teenager in the case a short time later, au­thor­i­ties said.

Cameron Bryant Kingsby, 17, of Lit­tle Rock was ar­rested on charges of ag­gra­vated rob­bery and flee­ing, ac­cord­ing to the Lit­tle Rock Po­lice Depart­ment.

The rob­bery hap­pened around 7:40 p.m. Mon­day at the sand­wich chain’s lo­ca­tion at 4012 Plateau St., which is near UAMS Med­i­cal Cen­ter, ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port.

The of­fi­cer emerged from the restau­rant’s re­stroom to find a hooded rob­ber bran­dish­ing a hand­gun at cus­tomers, the re­port said.

The of­fi­cer, who was in his po­lice uni­form, de­clared him­self as be­ing with the Po­lice Depart­ment, and the rob­ber ran, au­thor­i­ties said.

Po­lice said Kingsby was ar­rested af­ter a short foot chase as a sec­ond of­fi­cer ar­rived at the scene.
