BOBBY ALLEN ANTHONY, age 74, of North Little Rock, left our earthly arms for the arms of Jesus on February 7, 2019, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bobby fought an unknown battle with A.L.S. He was surrounded by the loving presence of his wife, four children, four sisters, brother, beloved sister-in-law, Patty, and his grandchild­ren.

Bobby was born December 5, 1944, to Elmer Erie and Parlee (Compton) Anthony in Aubrey, Arkansas. Bobby and Anita were united in holy matrimony on February 17, 1983, in Carlisle, Arkansas.

Bobby was one in only a few who held pride, honesty, and loyalty in his work. His career began in North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1969 at Gulf Oil on Airport Road. He retired after fourteen years of loyal service. In 1983, he went to work at ABF, where he made many friends. He remained at ABF until his retirement in 2007. He wasn’t finished and returned to Satterfiel­d Oil of Conway to drive that big blue “Pete” that he loved, dragging a tanker over freeways and fields, delivering to airports and farmers. He achieved over three million accident-free miles during his career.

Bobby was an antique car enthusiast and was often seen traveling Arkansas in his 1962 red Impala with his friends and brother-in-law, Rick Green, for weekend adventures. Bobby accepted Christ as his Savior on May 27, 1998, at Grace Baptist Church in Scott, Arkansas. He followed God’s command of Baptism along with his wife, Anita, on May 31, 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nola Forrest and Lula Mae Davis; a grandson, Oliver Allen Mullins; the mother of his two sons, Linda Gail (Scaife) Anthony; as well as a great-grandchild, Baby Sanchez.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Anita Anthony; children, Ken (Robyn) Anthony of Leslie, Arkansas, Jason Anthony of Conway, Arkansas, Natasha Stewart of North Little Rock, Jeree’ Mullins of North Little Rock; brother, Billy (Patty) Anthony of Vilonia, Arkansas; sisters, Joyce (Norman) Barnes of Marianna, Arkansas, Carolyn (Leslie) Green of Marianna, Arkansas, Dianne Pounds of Cabot, and Linda (Clancy) Cunningham of Lumberport, West Virginia; favorite niece, Deborah Tanner of Marianna; ten grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; a bounty of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends; as well as his loyal companion, Fred (the dog), whom he rescued from the North Little Rock Animal Shelter.

–––––❖––––– ALICE VIRGINIA FARRELL, 96, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019. Alice was born to the late Hugo and Lola Gregory on September 8, 1922. She grew up in Portland, Arkansas, where she was the Valedictor­ian of the Portland High School Class of 1940. During World War II Alice worked as a clerk at the Greenville, Mississipp­i Army Air Force Base and the Elkins Army Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. She later worked as a clerk at an insurance company and a bank in Little Rock.

Alice belonged to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the friendship­s and activities of the Lunch Bunch, Bridge Club and the Bas Bleu Club. Alice did volunteer work at the retail shop at the Arkansas Territoria­l Restoratio­n and for Meals on Wheels. She was a loving wife and Mother.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Lucien Farrell, Jr., her sister, Bess Horton and her brother Dr. Hugo Gregory. She is survived by her sons Lucien Farrell III and Gregory Farrell.

DR. JOHN CLAUDE GILL, age 89, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully in his home on February 4, 2019. John was born in Memphis, Tenn. He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1947 and earned a Doctor of Education from the University of Arkansas. Gill entered the Air Force in 1948, flying numerous missions, primarily piloting B47s and B29s. He served in 8 major commands, including the Strategic Air Command as a command reconnaiss­ance pilot and for the

NATO school in Oberammerg­au, Germany as Director of Academic Programs and Lecturer. He achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1974, he was an administra­tor for five years at Cabot High School. He was employed with Arkansas Department of Education for 8 years and then the next 8 years as Superinten­dent of the Lower Yukon and Nenana School Districts in Alaska.

John, a Christian, was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, served as AARP Leadership Volunteer for Advocacy, an instructor in the Mature Driving Course, and taught groups at The Sheppard Center. He was a 32nd Shriner in the Scimitar Temple and President of the England-Keo Hunting Club. John loved his family, flying, and hunting.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Carolyn Bridges Gill. He loved his 4 children, John H. (predecease­d in 2005) of Beavercree­k, Ohio, Gregory B. of Paris, Texas, Mark. A. of Bartlett, Tenn., and Melissa Gill Galliani of Novato, Calif. His beloved grandchild­ren are Kristin Gill Smith, Lyndsey Gill, Marko Gill, Ryan Gill, Alex Gill, Rachel Galliani, Claudia Galliani, and Thomas Gill.

–––––❖––––– SHARON M. GOBLE, 73, of Sherwood, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019. She was born on April 29, 1945 in Little Rock to J. Doyle and Hattie Moore. Sharon graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. in Math and Physics, she later pursued her master’s degree in math at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Jacksonvil­le. Sharon retired from PNC Bank after 35 years of service as a senior V.P. in system developmen­t. She loved horses, dogs, and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of the Remount Saddle Club, Central Horse Show Associatio­n, Little Rock Dog Training Club, and Pulaski County Sheriff Mounted Patrol. She was devoted to her family, friends, and her church.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 52 years, James Goble; daughter, Kathryn Kopreski; son-in-law, George Kopreski; and a host of many friends and family.

Dan was a U.S. Navy veteran and pilot. He flew all types of aircraft, nearly everything with wings, and retired from Cessna. He was the oldest licensed pilot in Saline County. Dan was presented The Wright Brothers “Master Pilot” Award on June 21, 2016 by the Department of Transporta­tion Federal Aviation Administra­tion. An ordained minister, he served as a missionary in Oklahoma and western Kansas. He was a member of the Disciples of Men at Park Hill Christian Church.

4, 2019, with her daughters by her side.

Mrs. Roper was born January

1, 1930, in England, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Charlie C. Hughey and Gussie Elizabeth (Helmick) Hughey.

She was also preceded by brothers and sisters, Charleen Tipton, H.L. Hughey, Charlie Hughey, Kitty Grace Chambers, A.K. Hughey and Bobby Frank Hughey. Mrs. Roper is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Roper) Bryan of Little Rock; Amy (Roper) Finley of Cabot; grandsons, Connor and Jackson Bryan of Little Rock, Wade Finley III, of Cabot, and her brother, Lloyd Lee Hughey of North Little Rock.

She owned her own private school “Roper School” for over 29 years. One of her great accomplish­ments was getting the school accredited through the state of Arkansas. She enjoyed teaching young minds of all ages, and touched over 17,400 students enrolled in her school over the years. Each of her students was provided with a Bible as well as a hand written note from her upon graduation. She also owned a children’s clothing store “YoungLand”.

Post-Retirement, she became an avid volunteer with Bryant Senior Center; Bryant Meals on Wheels; the Bryant Chamber of Commerce; the Save a Life Pregnancy Center in Decatur, Alabama; the Conway Arkansas Woman’s Shelter of Central Arkansas; and made sleep beds for the homeless. She was an avid bunko, dominoes and card player.

She was extremely competitiv­e and loved winning.

62, passed away

Mary was quick on the draw with her wit, particular­ly when she displayed that famous crooked smile. Her charm, warm heart, crackling and infectious laugh, cleverness, sincerity, unabashed honesty and penchant for humor naturally invited people into her life.

In short, as many who knew her always said, Mary was just a nice person.

She was an avid Razorback basketball fan. When summer drew near, you could find her eased into her patio swing, reading historical fiction. Mary wasn’t shy about instructin­g her husband about how to go about doing any yard work. She was the daughter of a florist, but rarely gave plants, flowers and shrubs a lot of time.

She was the proverbial sweet tooth, never met a lemon square she didn’t like.

Mary Loved being at the family cabin at Lake Norfork and loved playing solitaire at the cabin there, but that was the only place she would play. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Arkansas State University.

Mary was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas, and lived most of her life in Jonesboro and Little Rock. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Mike Roy, sons Jake Roy of Little Rock and Max Roy of Austin, Texas; her mother, Shirley Foust of Jonesboro; brother Roger Foust and sister, Candy Cobb, both of Jonesboro, and other family and friends. She

was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Foust.

––––– ––––– THOMAS HARRIS WALTON died peacefully, surrounded by family, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock on Thursday January 17, 2019. Tom was born February 13, 1922 to Frances Margaret and Harry Phillip Walton in Yazoo City, Miss. He graduated from high school in Yazoo City, and received his degree in chemical engineerin­g from Mississipp­i State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After graduation, he was commission­ed a 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and rose to Captain of his anti-aircraft artillery unit in New Guinea during WWII, later achieving the rank of Major. He began his career in Laurel, Miss. working for the Masonite Corporatio­n. In 1961, he moved to Crossett, Ark. where he became manager of the particlebo­ard plant for the Crossett Company, which later became Georgia Pacific, retiring in 1984.

He was an Elder in the Presbyteri­an Church and a member of Grace Presbyteri­an Church in Little Rock. Tom learned to play bridge at the age of 11 and continued to play until his recent illness. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes, and in his later years, he liked watching “Days of Our Lives” and entering the sweepstake­s for Publishers Clearing House. While living in Crossett, he served as a member of the library commission when the new Crossett Library was built. Above all, his family was his greatest enjoyment in life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Harry, Nathaniel, Pryor, and Campbell Walton, his wife, Mary Noel Baird Walton, his daughter, Katherine Walton Harpole, and his son-inlaw John Harpole. Survivors include his son, Campbell Walton, and his wife Van of Charlotte, N.C., his son Bob Walton of Batesville, and his daughter, Martha Walton Thannisch, and her husband Ray of Little Rock. He is survived by 10 grandchild­ren, Katy Harpole Smith (Damon) of Pensacola, Fla., Douglas Harpole (Stephanie) of Little Rock, Aaron Walton of Milwaukee, Wis., Benjamin Walton (Melissa) of Charlotte, N.C., Mary Stuart Walton of Fayettevil­le, Caroline Earleywine (Bonnie) of Little Rock, Elizabeth Walton of Tulsa, Okla., Thomas Walton of Bentonvill­e, Adam Thannisch of Little Rock, and Maggie Thannisch of Little Rock. JIM ROY WARDEN II, of Little Rock died peacefully Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019. He was born March 5, 1946, to the late Dr. Jim Roy Warden and Maxine Gunter Warden Culp in Little Rock. After graduating from Hall High in 1965, he was employed as an architectu­ral draftsman and later worked for mechanical engineerin­g firms. His passion was hunting, namely duck and pheasant, along with his faithful bird dogs, Chance, Boomer, Grant and Sherman. Jim had a heightened curiosity for learning a new skill or hobby.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Stephen Warden. Mr. Warden is survived by his daughters, Tanya Saulo and husband, J.R. Saulo and Kristen Evans; grandsons, Austin Wilt, Devin Harris and Kierian Saville. Other survivors include his sister, Sandra Benge; nieces; nephews and his lifelong friend, Carol Rhein Warden.

(Jake) Burgess, Jr., and Anna Lou Burgess on August 4, 1942. He graduated from Lonoke High School in 1960 and attended Arkansas Polytechni­cal College where he studied agricultur­e. He returned permanentl­y to Lonoke and spent his entire life here, working first as a farmer and then retiring from his trucking company in order to spend more time with his family.

Sonny was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Virgie Burgess; his parents, Jake and Anna Lou Burgess; sister Rita June Burgess; and his only son, John H. (Bert) Burgess, IV. After coming home from the war, he began farming in Lafayette County. He married Betty Simpson in 1955. They moved to Lonoke County in 1966 where he farmed until he retired.

CUMMING, Ga. — Kimberly Ann George Brennan was born July 26, 1966 to

Earl and Linda

George in Stuttgart, Arkansas. She was a member of St.

John’s Lutheran Church. Kimberly attended school in Stuttgart, where she was active in many activities including: Delta Beta Sigma, she was a majorette in the marching band, and she was involved in many civic clubs. After high school, Kimberly attended the University of Central Arkansas as a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in marketing.

Kimberly’s condition, beginning at age 14, started with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and then was later complicate­d by Primary Pulmonary Hypertensi­on. Kimberly was a beautiful, brave, stubborn fighter. She overcame these adversitie­s and worked hard to have a very successful career. Kimberly’s career in marketing started with GE in Arkansas, then Jacksonvil­le, Florida, and she eventually made Cumming, Georgia her home. Kimberly’s career allowed her to see and experience cultures around the world. While working with GE, she traveled to such places as Sydney, Milan, Brussels, and Rome these are just a few of the interestin­g places she visited. Kimberly ended her career as a Marketing Executive for McKesson.

Kimberly had a keen eye for fashion, even if it was just a t-shirt and jeans, she always looked “put together” She was passionate about the fashion industry, interior and marketing design, as well as cooking. Kimberly was a very warm, kindhearte­d person. She liked meeting people, getting to know them, and how she could bring joy to their lives with her smile, as well as her caring and compassion. Kimberly loved the beach, and as she always said, she was, “happiest on the bright blue seas of the coast”. Kimberly’s love of the beach is where her final resting place will be.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her loving mother, Linda L. George. Kimberly is survived by her fiance, Henry Hoffman of Atlanta, Ga., her loving furry companions Jack and Molly, her father, Earl F. George of Stuttgart, Arkansas, brother, Kenneth Earl George of Stuttgart, sister Kathy (Jim) Ellis of Gulf Shores, Alabama, sister, Kerry Knowlton of Stuttgart, Arkansas and her niece and nephews, Brandi and Will Knowlton, Gavin Carter and James and Joseph Ellis and a host of family and friends.
