SEARCY — Whether Searcy wins or not the Small Business Revolution-Main Street contest, residents in the city and surrounding area can participate March 27 in a free small-business seminar sponsored by Deluxe.

Searcy will find out Tuesday whether it has made the top-five cities being considered to win $500,000 for six small businesses and be featured on the eight-part online and Hulu series. The city made the top 20, then the top 10 out of 12,000 cities in an online contest. The project is sponsored by Deluxe, a national marketing company.

“Regardless of where we finish from here on out, Deluxe … is coming back to Searcy on March 27 at Cone Chapel at Harding, and they are doing a smallbusiness workshop,” said Amy Burton, executive director of Main Street Searcy. “Anybody can sign up for that; there’s no charge for it. It doesn’t even have to be limited to Searcy.”

Burton said more details about the day-long seminar and registration are available at

mysearcy.org. She said topics will include how to market and promote a business and more.

Of the businesses that sign up by Monday, one will be chosen to win $1,000 worth of marketing products and services from Deluxe.
