Men­tal health sem­i­nars sched­uled

NAMI Austin, the lo­cal af­fil­i­ate of the Na­tional Al­liance on Men­tal Ill­ness, will hold two four-hour sem­i­nars in North­west Austin and in Buda that will in­form and sup­port peo­ple who have loved ones with a men­tal health con­di­tions.

The sem­i­nars will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Satur­day at St. El­iz­a­beth Epis­co­pal Church, 725 FM 967, Buda; and 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 at Hope Pres­by­te­rian Church, 11512 Ol­son Drive in North­west Austin.

Par­tic­i­pants will learn about di­ag­noses, treat­ment, re­cov­ery, com­mu­ni­ca­tion strate­gies, cri­sis prepa­ra­tion and re­sources. Sem­i­nar lead­ers have ex­pe­ri­ence with men­tal health con­di­tions in their fam­i­lies. Reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired, and seats are lim­ited.
