Two new non­stop flights are headed for Austin-Bergstrom

Amer­i­can Air­lines will start non­stop ser­vice from Austin to JFK In­ter­na­tional Air­port on Fri­day, and Fron­tier Air­lines Hold­ings Inc. will start non­stop ser­vice fom Austin to Kansas City, Mo., in Novem­ber.

The Amer­i­can daily flight will leave Austin at 9:35 a.m. and ar­rive at JFK at 2:29 p.m.

The re­turn flight leaves at 3:40 p.m. and ar­rives in Austin at 6:45 p.m.

“Austin is an im­por­tant fo­cus city for Amer­i­can’s net­work, so we’re ex­cited to be able to add this New York non­stop to our sched­ule,” said Roger Firzzell, Amer­i­can’s vice pres­i­dent for cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ca­tions.

Amer­i­can is the sec­ond-largest car­rier at Austin-Bergstrom In­ter­na­tional Air­port af­ter South­west Air­lines.

Fron­tier said its new flight will start Nov. 18.

The flight will leave Austin at 8:10 a.m., with the re­turn flight de­part­ing Kansas City at 6:59 p.m.
